This interactive webinar focuses on the real‑world skills needed to lead with integrity, support colleagues and contribute to safe, high‑quality care. Whether you’re new to leadership or looking to strengthen your professional voice, this session provides practical tools you can use immediately in your daily practice.
Building on our ‘Introduction to Leadership’ session, the ‘Leadership in Action’ webinar takes the next step in developing confident, influential and courageous leaders within healthcare settings.
This 3‑hour advanced leadership webinar is suitable for all roles in the nursing team, including Registered Nurses, Health Care Support Workers, and student nurses. Organised by RCN Wales, but you do not need to be based in Wales to join us!
You do not need to have attended the introduction session to attend this session, however it may be helpful to have some basic awareness of leadership styles and understand what leadership means in healthcare.
What this session will cover:
- Speaking up and challenging unsafe or unprofessional behaviour
Learn how to recognise unsafe practice and use clear, respectful approaches to escalate concerns, protect patients and support colleagues.
- Leading with authenticity
Explore what authentic leadership looks like in healthcare and discover how your values, strengths and communication style shape the way you lead.
- Navigating conflict and courageous conversations
Gain confidence in having difficult discussions, managing tension and addressing issues early to build healthier, more collaborative teams.
- Developing influence
Understand how influence works in clinical environments and develop strategies to positively shape decisions, behaviours and team culture.
- Professional courage and accountability
Build the courage to act, take responsibility and model professionalism—especially in challenging or high‑pressure situations.
- Supporting others to speak up
Learn how to create psychologically safe spaces where colleagues feel empowered to raise concerns, share ideas and contribute to improvement.
This webinar can contribute to participatory learning hours, which can support NMC revalidation CPD requirements.
