All RCN South Birmingham members are invited to attend their Annual General Meeting, which is being held online via Microsoft Teams. The AGM will also incorporate a learning event focusing on the delivery of care to migrants and people seeking sanctuary.
Learning event: Health care for migrants and people seeking sanctuary
This learning event seeks to strengthen local understanding, improve service delivery and promote inclusive and equitable support for migrants and people seeking sanctuary.
The workshop will bring together health, care, and community partners to deepen understanding of their needs and experiences, with the session being led in partnership with the Refugee Alliance and including contributions from the branch executive team and a range of guest speakers who will be announced on the day.
The event aims to raise awareness of the challenges faced by individuals seeking sanctuary (including access to health care and social services), and the wider determinants of health such as housing, employment, and social inclusion. It will provide an opportunity to hear directly from lived experiences, share best practice, and explore practical approaches to reducing inequalities.
Attendees will gain an insight into culturally competent care, trauma-informed approaches and partnership working across sectors, with the aim of improving outcomes for diverse communities.
Branch Annual General Meeting
Come along to your branch Annual General Meeting, which is your chance to make a difference by shaping local branch activities for the year ahead and electing your branch committee members.
It's vital that members attend and elect their new branch executive.
Both the AGM and learning event will be held online via Microsoft Teams - to register your attendance, please book your place here. Once you have registered, you will receive a confirmation email which includes the link to join the Microsoft Teams meeting on the day.
You will need to log-in to your RCN account before booking. If you don't have an RCN account, it's a really simple process to create one - just follow the steps provided.
