Do you work at Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust? We'll be there on 6 October to talk to you about job evaluation and the band 5 review in England.
How much do you know about job evaluation, the new national nursing job profiles, and how this affects how much you get paid?
We'll be visiting Lynfield Mount Hospital to speak to you about all this, and hand out further information and resources. Look out for us in the reception area between 10.00am-3.00pm on Tuesday 6 October.
Why this matters
Last year, new national nursing profiles were published; these are used as part of the job evaluation process. This, in turn, determines the pay bands for all NHS roles on Agenda for Change contracts.
Your job description is a crucial part of this and needs to be an accurate reflection of your role.
The government has instructed NHS employers in England to review every band 5 job description, but this is just the start. All nursing jobs should be reviewed or have recently undergone a review against these new profiles – no matter which band you’re on.
This is your opportunity to speak to us and highlight your concerns so you feel empowered to engage with the job evaluation process.

Yorkshire & the Humber Pay Delivery Officer Lydia Golby
Lydia is the Pay Delivery Officer for Yorkshire and the Humber. Lydia brings a wealth of experience from across the healthcare sector, having worked in both the NHS and the independent sector as a children's nurse. More recently, she held a strategic leadership role within a large health and care system, delivering change and supporting workforce development at a senior level.
In her previous position as an NHS Deputy Director of Nursing, Lydia combined leadership responsibilities with a strong commitment to staff representation. She is passionate about fairness, equity, fostering positive workplace cultures, and ensuring that the valuable contributions of healthcare professionals are recognised and rewarded.
Lydia’s commitment to supporting and advocating for staff was strengthened during a period of significant organisational change, which inspired her to become an RCN Steward. She wanted to help ensure that colleagues' voices were heard and represented effectively. Around the same time, Lydia was honoured to be elected chair of her local RCN Branch, where she thoroughly enjoyed working alongside members and supporting the development of the branch.
Lydia said: “I am excited about the opportunity to connect with nursing colleagues across the region and to raise awareness of the government's commitment to the Band 5 nursing job description review. The ‘Know your worth’ campaign provides a fantastic opportunity to engage with members, share information, and celebrate the value of our profession. I look forward to meeting many of you through Trust roadshows, RCN webinars, and other events throughout the campaign.”
