RCN stewards in Northern, North West and Yorkshire & the Humber regions are invited to join us for this continuous learning and development webinar.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is rapidly changing the way information is accessed, analysed and presented in workplaces, trade union casework and even in employment tribunals. From members arriving with AI-generated documents to increasing use of AI tools across the NHS, trade union representatives need to understand both the opportunities and the risks these technologies present.
Why attend?
This webinar is for RCN stewards in our Northern, North West, and Yorkshire and Humber regions. This practical webinar will:
- Introduce the fundamentals of artificial intelligence in plain English, exploring how tools such as ChatGPT and CoPilot work
- Explain how AI can produce convincing but false information
- Examine key issues including confidentiality, data protection, and algorithmic bias
The session will also demonstrate safe and effective ways AI can support representatives, including document summarisation, chronology building, information gathering and routine administrative tasks.
Looking beyond individual casework, we will consider the growing role of AI across the NHS (from NHS Fit for the Future to the Federated Data Platform) and why its adoption is a trade union issue.
