The South Asia gallery is the only dedicated gallery in the country which explores South Asian heritage.  It is a co-founded gallery with the British Museum and focuses on lived experiences, providing a unique mix of modern and historical information, personal stories and artefacts.
The RCN has been invited to support the curation of a new installation in the gallery which will represents nursing.
Working with two facilitators, we are holding several workshops, both in-person and online, to support the curation. Members who have a South Asian connection have been invited to tell their story, whether that be a unique story of how they came to nursing or about their lived experiences as a nurse in the UK.
Members have also been encouraged to contribute in other ways, such as through music or art, or by loaning or donating items such as old uniform, equipment, diaries or items of interest depicting South Asian heritage.
An online workshop is planned on Thursday 13th November, 7pm-8:30pm, followed by a final in-person workshop at Manchester Museum on Wednesday 3 December from 5pm.
