This year, we’ll be hosting a special ceremony in December to celebrate our award winners. But first, we need your help to find them!

Do you work with a Rising Star?

A Rising Star is someone bursting with potential — a colleague whose nursing expertise and talent are on the rise and deserve recognition.

They might be:

  • A nursing support worker showing outstanding leadership potential
  • A nurse, midwife, or health visitor who role models exceptional practice, has helped develop new services, or advocates for patients and colleagues
  • A nursing student whose enthusiasm and commitment shine through
  • A nurse in higher education who is inspiring the next generation of nursing talent

These are just a few examples — we want to hear about anyone you believe is truly exceptional.

Who can be nominated?

Nominees must:

  • Be from the global majority (Black, Asian, or minoritised ethnic background)
  • Be a nurse, midwife, nursing support worker, nursing or midwifery student, or nurse in higher education
  • Be an RCN member
  • Work or study in London
  • Work in the NHS or other sectors (e.g. general practice, nursing agencies, independent or higher education sectors)
  • Be in a Band 2–7 role (or equivalent)
  • Not have previously received a Rising Star award
  • Not be a member of the RCN London Board
