Your continued professional development
As a registered nurse or midwife, you can use attendance at our events to contribute to the NMC revalidation continuing professional development requirements, including participatory learning. To meet revalidation requirements, you will need to demonstrate how your learning will help you to practise according to the four themes of the NMC Code:
- Prioritise people
- Practise effectively
- Preserve safety
- Promote professionalism and trust.
Don’t forget to keep any supporting evidence to prove that you undertook the learning activity.
As a health care assistant/health care support worker/assistant practitioner/trainee nursing associate, you can use your time at our events to develop both professionally and personally.
As a student, our events can help you explore existing interests and network with other delegates. Make sure you capture what you have learned in these sessions so you can use it for reflection purposes.
You can use the questions below as a framework to help structure your learning. Once completed, keep your reflections, together with the relevant documentation, in your personal professional portfolio.
- What have I learnt from this event that maintains or develops my professional knowledge and competence?
- What do I know or can I do now that I couldn’t do before attending/completing this educational initiative?
- What can I apply immediately to my practice and client care?
- Is there anything I didn’t understand or need to explore further/read more about in order to clarify my learning?
- What else do I need to do/know to extend my professional development in this area?
