The Welsh Government is consulting on proposals for the establishment and operation of the Tertiary Education and Research Commission for Wales

Based on responses to their initial consultation, and the publication of their White Paper, Public Good and a Prosperous Wales the Welsh Government are now consulting on more developed and detailed proposals. These proposals aim to provide greater clarity on the how the authority will operate.

For all post-compulsory education and training the commission would:

  • oversee strategic planning of educational and skills delivery
  • be responsible for funding, contracting, quality, financial monitoring and audit
  • manage and fund all of Welsh Government supported research and innovation.

This consultation has been rated “response necessary”. RCN will be responding therefore we would appreciate your views and comments.

In order to allow time for our authorisation process we would need to receive any comments by 3rd July 2018. Please send any comments directly to Policy.PublicAffairs.Wales@rcn.org.uk  or use the Have Your Say page.
