04 Jun 2025, 13:00 - 14:15
Choose event information:
RCN Cambridgeshire branch members are invited to attend this online learning event about the end of life.
Rhiannon Maslen, end of life care education facilitator at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, will talk about what happens when people die.
Rhiannon will explain what people may fear about the dying process itself. Our society creates expectations about how people should die and some of these may be very idealised and unlike reality. In all settings the nurse's role involves supporting the patient and those surrounding the patient, giving suitable information and providing comfort when people are distressed. In the session we will focus on the common symptoms we are likely to see when someone begins to die. There will also be the opportunity to ask questions.
The session will be held online using Microsoft Teams. A link to join the meeting will be sent to you once you register your details to attend. When joining the meeting, please make sure you are clearly identified with your name on screen so we can admit you quickly to the event. If you have any accessibility requirements, please let us know when booking your place. If joining from a mobile device, you may find it useful to download the MS Teams app in advance of joining the session. We look forward to seeing you at a meeting soon.
