Join the Yorkshire & the Humber Global Majority Network to celebrate Black History Month with an exciting and inspiring learning event on 17 October.
Our celebratory event will focus on the theme of standing firm in power and pride.
Chaired by RCN Yorkshire & the Humber Regional Director Sarah Dodsworth, we'll be welcoming a fantastic line up of speakers including:
- Bruno Daniel, RCN Inclusion Programme Lead
- Lena Johnson, RCN Professional Lead for Nursing Workforce
- Alan Chalkley, RCN Library and Archive Service.
What does standing firm in power and pride mean to you?
During the event, we'll explore what standing firm in power and pride looks like to you through a Desert Island Discs style session. We would love to hear a piece of music, poetry, spoken word, or similar that signifies standing firm in power and pride to you. If you'd like to share yours before the event, please email emma.phillips@rcn.org.uk with the title of the song, poem, etc, and a short explanation of what it means to you.
There will be plenty of time for networking throughout the day, and even a chance to win books from the RCN Black History Month reading list. Lunch and refreshments will also be provided.
