All RCN Birmingham East, North and Solihull members are encouraged to attend their Annual General Meeting, which is being held online via Microsoft Teams. The meeting will also incorporate a learning event exploring autism awareness.
Autism awareness
If you have ever worked with an autistic person and wondered how to better support that person, welcome! If you have ever felt daunted about how best to support autistic people within health care environments, welcome! If you are autistic and would like to support those who are ‘neurotypical’ within health care environments, welcome!
Presented by Christopher Barber, author of 'Autism and Asperger's Condition: A practical guide for nurses', 'Learning disabilities: A non- specialist introduction for nursing, health and social care', and 'Autism in Nursing and Healthcare', this session will focus on a range of issues pertinent to supporting a person with autism within a number of health care environments.
Branch Annual General Meeting
Come along to your branch Annual General Meeting, which is your chance to make a difference by shaping local branch activities for the year ahead and electing your branch committee members.
It's vital that members attend and elect their new branch executive.
The meeting will held online via Microsoft Teams - to register your attendance, please book your place here. Once you have registered, you will receive a confirmation email which includes the link to join the Microsoft Teams meeting on the day.
You will need to log-in to your RCN account before booking. If you don't have an RCN account, it's a really simple process to create one - just follow the steps provided.
Could you help lead the branch?
If you're interested in getting more involved in the work of the branch, why not consider standing for one of the branch committee posts, which includes branch chair, secretary and treasurer? Please read the RCN governance branch role descriptions for these roles to check your eligibility and capacity.
Being a branch committee member is a great personal and professional development opportunity. You can nominate yourself for a position on the committee for 2026 by completing the nomination form before the AGM.
