RCN North Staffordshire members are invited to the first branch learning event of 2026, which will incorporate two online learning sessions.
Resuscitation Council UK basic life support (BLS) and first aid update
Presented by David Nicoll, RCN North Staffordshire branch secretary and BLS instructor, this first session will provide an update on the Resuscitation Council UK's revised 2025 guidelines, which made a number of changes to the BLS algorithm and introduced a number of first aid recommendations.
Infusion device safety
This second session will be delivered by Paul Harvey, Acting Senior Charge Nurse and Medical Device Educator at University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust. Paul will provide attendees with a basic understanding of the importance of safe practice when using an infusion device, including preparation, two-person checking and the administration of an infusion.
