GLK Virtual Congress

With RCN Congress 2020 unfortunately cancelled due to COVID-19, the Greater Liverpool and Knowsley branch have decided to host their own virtual edition.

GLK Virtual Congress will take place daily from Sunday 7- Friday 12 June.

The schedule is growing daily so ideally keep an eye on the branch social media pages (Twitter @glk_rcn Facebook: RCN Greater Liverpool and Knowsley branch) to keep up to date with what’s happening.

Most of the events are taking place on Zoom with some over Microsoft Teams. Once you have accessed the event for the first time you will be able to see what’s happening each day and catch up on anything you’ve missed.

Here’s the outline schedule and how to take part:

Monday	Join from 11.15am for Coffee morning – a chance to chat.	2pm - GLK Virtual Congress Afternoon Tea	These sessions are taking place via Teams.* Via Teams. *
Tuesday	Join from 11.15am for the daily coffee morning. Today is Student Day. Sam Turner, the RCN North West’s student rep will be doing a Q&A/interview.	2pm - GLK Virtual Congress Afternoon Tea 7.30pm – Open Mic night	Via Zoom.* Via Teams.*
Wednesday	Pay discussion from 9.45am. This is an informal discussion to start the conversation as we begin to look at negotiation for a new pay deal. For this session is for RCN members only and must register in advance. Please email martina.whittaker@rcn.org.uk with your full name (and membership number is available) and you will receive joining instructions.	1pm - Meditation with Carmel. 2pm - GLK Virtual Congress Afternoon Tea	Pre-register for the pay discussion. Thursday	Join 'Coffee morning' from 11.15, no topic as such, just general chats.	2pm - GLK Virtual Congress Afternoon Tea 7.15 Quiz night!	Via Teams.* Via Zoom.* Via Zoom.*
Friday	Join 'Coffee morning' from 11.15. Interview with Dave Dawes – Chair of the RCN North West Board and RCN Council member.		Via Teams.*

If you already have a personal MS Teams account, you can attempt to join directly here.

Alternately you can register in advance by sending the branch an email. Please aim to do this as soon as possible as it might mean you miss a session if you have not got it set up ready to go. Joining will not be instant. A link will be emailed to you which takes you through the process of adding Teams to your device.
