Professional development

The RCN is committed to lifelong learning and the professional development of our members, which is why we've launched this new section.

Key to the services we are offering, you will find library services and archives; publications and research; and nursing communities; as well as information on nursing practice issues.

Library services

The e-revolution has transformed RCN Library and Information Services. At home, at work, or studying, you now have direct access to an exciting range of new and existing services.

Nursing communities

We have launched a pilot scheme for professional nursing communities. RCN communities will be defined ‘by the members, for the members’, and in the first instance will be the web presence for RCN forum groups. However, after the pilot period new communities can then be formed around the following themes:

  • A group of RCN members with a common nursing speciality
  • RCN members with a geographical grouping
  • A member group united by a common issue or campaign.

Although this is early days for the project, we hope that by encouraging your participation we can together build a series of vibrant, professional nursing communities that will benefit the whole of the RCN family.
