Revalidation requirements: Health and character
As part of your NMC revalidation you need to make a declaration about your health and character. This does not form part of your portfolio.
Good character is important and is central to the NMC Code because nurses, nursing associates and midwives must be honest and trustworthy. Your declaration will also include an opportunity to inform the NMC of any impending police charges or cautions.
You are expected to be in a state of health that ensures you are capable of safe and effective practice without supervision, after any reasonable adjustments are made by your employer. This does not mean there must be a total absence of any disability or health condition.
