The RCN has launched an independent and confidential help and support line for any members or staff who may have been affected by any form of sexual harassment whilst engaged in any RCN activity or events.
Confidential help and support line: 0800 783 1157.
The line is open every day of the week, 24 hours a day.
Callers will speak to highly trained counsellors who can offer support and signpost to resources.
The confidential help and support line is being managed independently by the Validium Group. They are highly regarded and experienced in support line provision, with strict policies and procedures to ensure confidentiality.
Any information disclosed to Validium will not be shared with the RCN or any other third party without consent. They will offer the opportunity to speak with someone who understands just how difficult it can be to reach out for help.
The 0800 number is free and will not show up on your phone or any phone bills. If you prefer not disclose the number you are calling from, you can hide your phone number on a landline by dialling 141 before the helpline number – for mobiles, check with your network provider that this service is available with your mobile network.
Anyone can be affected by sexual harassment. It’s not restricted to any gender, age, ethnicity, sexuality or role. If you have been affected, it is important that you are listened to, supported, and helped to work through any actions you wish to take.
The primary focus of the 0800 783 1157 number is for support, help and access to a counsellor. If you do not require this level of support but want to raise a complaint or provide us with any feedback, please call 0800 032 3521.
If you are an RCN member and have experienced any form of sexual harassment in your workplace, please contact RCN Direct for support and advice by calling 0345 772 6100.
